Training is on Thursdays from 6-7pm at Amaroo Playing Fields.
This week athletes will be working on Javelin:
We need adult helpers for each group to assist with retrieving throw implements and make sure kids are lining up and behaving in a safe manner. The schedule for the rest of the season can be found on our Training page. We’ve made it to our 4th Athletics meet. There was some exciting news confirmed this week about Gungahlin Athletics Club getting a guest appearance at our Coles Community Round next weekend. In other great news we received delivery of our new red T-shirts and Sleeveless T-shirts - they’ll be available for sale on Saturday! If you’re waiting for the red Crops and Racer Singlets they’re still underway and should be with us by Meet 7.
UPCOMING EVENTS & COMPETITIONS Coles Community Round: Meet 5, 15 November 2025, Amaroo Playing Fields We are excited to announce who our incredible guest will be very soon. To help celebrate all club members (Parents/Coaches/Athletes) are all encouraged to dress up and to embrace the Coles theme (think bananas, red, Coles). Best Dressed will be in line to win! Need some inspiration? 2023 Coles Little Athletics Community Round Highlights Video Coles ACT Relay Competition: 23rd November 2025, Woden Athletics Track (Entries close Mon, 17 Nov 2025) Chat to your fellow athletes about competing and forming a team. Registrations are open to U6-Adult athletes, including our Adult-Community members ($10 entry fee). Please sign up on the Expression of Interest form at the Equipment Shed and register on the Capital Athletics page. More information is available on our Relay page or the Capital Athletics registration page. Start Times: At the start time athletes should be lined up by their Age Group basket on the bottom oval at the following locations (check out the map)): 8:20am: Tiny Tots (near junior throws) and U6-8 (straight track) 9:45am: 1500m Run U11-Adult (meet at round track) 9:50am: U9+ (near senior throws) Programs and Rosters: You’ll see the addition of some relays on this week’s program for Saturday's events, helping our athletes get ready for the Relay Carnival. Group D is on Roster Duty and Volunteers (other than Tiny Tots) will need to sign in at the Equipment shed before reporting at their rostered duty. Registration bags: should be collected before your athlete commences the meet and will be available between 8-8:30AM and 9:30-10AM for athletes registered by Friday night. Remember to bring safety pins to securely attach their new numbers to their shirts. If you are new to the club please read through the New Family Information Sheet and our Arrival Guide - it provides information for athletes, volunteers and Age Group Managers. This week in preparation for the ACT Relay Carnival, just 2.5 weeks away, we’ll be running Relay training for all age groups. So if you have never held a baton or just need to practice your transfers this one is for you.
Thursday training is from 6-7pm at Amaroo Playing Fields. Athletes should register each week to assist us with planning Parents/Guardians please sign in each athlete (U6-U17) attending the training and stay at the grounds. We appreciate your help with lining up the kids, assisting with equipment (setup, adjustments, packup) etc. The schedule for the rest of the season can be found on our Training page. The third athletics meet is coming up quickly. Our athletes set 181 Personal Bests (PBs) last meet!
Age Group Managers (AGMs) still needed for U11 & U13 boys and additional AGMs to support our large group sizes and provide coverage for absences in the following age groups U7, U8 Boys and U8, U9, U10, U11, U13, U14 Girls. Start Times: 8:20am: Tiny Tots (bottom oval) + U6–8 (straight track) 9:45am: Race Walk (round track - top oval): U9 (700m), U10 - U11 (1100m) and U12 - Masters (1500m) 9:50am: U9+ (bottom oval near senior throws) Please make sure both numbers (age group and registration number) are attached to the athlete's shirt. Collect registration bags between 8-8:30am or 9:30-10am for athletes who register by Friday night - please bring 8 safety pins per athlete for your new numbers. Uniforms will be on sale (limited sizes) until 11:30am, sadly our new stock is still in transit If you've just registered: please read our Arrival Guide, Map, Code of Behaviours and Program. |
