SEASON DATES
The Athletics season runs from October to March each year. Indicative dates for the 2025-26 season are available on our Calendar.
AGE GROUPS
Age groups are based on calendar year athletes are born and are determined by the age an athlete is turning in 2026. Therefore a child who is turning 10 anytime in 2026 will be in the Under 10 age group for the 2025-26 season. Check out our Age Group Calculator if you want to double check before registering. The online registration system will detect the age group for each child being registered once you enter their date of birth. Athletes born after 2023 are eligible to register this season, our youngest athletes must've had their third birthday.
MEMBERSHIPS
We will be offering 4 different memberships this season: Tiny Tots (U4-5); Little/Junior Athletics (U6-17); Adult Competitive (18+) and Adult Community (17+). You can find out more information about these memberships and what they include on Our Club page or FAQs.
The following Age Groups are either full or close to capacity - please note you can put your name on the waitlist to be notified if a place becomes available. (Last updated 14 October 2025)
FEES FOR SEASON 2025-26
Registration fees are made up of two components - our Gungahlin Athletics Club fee and the Capital Athletics association fee. Both the Capital Athletics and the Gungahlin Athletics Club component of the fee have been raised this season. Your registration fee covers your insurance, access to weekly Training (U6+), Saturday club meets and ability to attend Capital Athletics events (except for Adult Community members), the Capital Athletics events generally have a small fee associated with them.
Discounts:
An Early Bird Discount is applied to all athletes who register by Sunday, 12th October 2025. This Club discount of $5 per athlete effectively means that athletes will not incur the Club price increase this season.
A Family Discount is automatically applied to families who register multiple athletes during the registration process ($10 discount for two athletes, $30 discount for three athletes; $70 discount for four athletes; $90 discount for five athletes).
Please note Gungahlin Athletics Tops are compulsory, they can be reused from last season and are not included in the registration fee.

DUTY ROSTER
Please note that is a condition of registration that all families must volunteer to assist during the season. Our club is run solely by parent volunteers! When you register online there will be a list of Groups with their associated dates you'll need to be available, along with options for your preferred duty. More information on these roles can be found on the Duty Roster page.
