Gungahlin Athletics Club (GAC) is an Athletics Club based in Gungahlin, Canberra run solely by volunteers. GAC is affiliated with Capital Athletics, which has members from the ACT and surrounding areas of NSW. Capital Athletics is run by office staff and elected Board of Management and acts to oversee the conduct of Little Athletics in the region and to organise interclub competitions.

Little Athletics is an Australian modified athletics program for children up to 17 years of age. Offering a wide range of events from running, jumping, throwing and walking, events are modified to suit the age, development stage and ability of the child. Little Athletics is the perfect way to improve your running technique for the AFL and soccer season, get a better leap for netball or start your green & gold athletics journey!

The Little Athletics summer season runs from early October to mid-March each year. GAC runs weekly meets every Saturday morning during the season at Amaroo Playing Fields, catering for athletes
 aged 3yo - Adult.

The focus of Little Athletics is on participation and learning the fundamental movements of running, jumping, throwing and walking. This is done through friendly competition in a well-run, safe and enjoyable environment. There is an event for everyone, and athletes have the chance to try them all out. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join, no matter their ability, Athletes stay with their age group for the course of the program and their age group manager keeps the group together and takes athletes around the oval to their events for the day.

As athletes get older, more events become available to try such as triple jump, high jump and javelin which are not suitable for younger age groups.
