We are excited to be able to provide these newly designed crop tops and racer singlets for our athletes this season. We have these in sizes 8-16, available at Amaroo from this Saturday, $35 each. A reminder for athletes with crop tops, the registration number can be trimmed down to fit on the crop top as long as the sponsors logo is still visible.   All GUNLAC athletics Under 7 and older can participate in our Thursday training sessions. These sessions run from 5.15pm at Amaroo Oval. Sessions focus on different events each week - the full schedule until our Christmas break is now available on our TRAINING PAGE, along with all the information you need on our training sessions. This week we kick off with Javelin training for athletes Under 11 and older and long jump for our younger athletes.  Our Program for our first meet of the season is now available on our Club Documents page. We are still finalising registration numbers which will impact on how many groups we run in each age group, once these are sorted we will release programs for Weeks 2 and beyond! On our first week we run a modified program with one less event than normal weeks - 3 for Under 6s and Under 7s, and four for all other age groups. This allows us time to get sorted at the start of the meet.  Only one more sleep until our season kicks off on Saturday! Registrations have been rolling in fast this week - lots of registration packs are ready for pick up this weekend. These packs include each athlete's registration number to be attached to their shirt/singlet/crop top, age patch, Coles patch and some vouchers from our sponsors. Most important of these is the registration number - these are new each season so please attach your 2018-19 number!
If you need to pick up your registration pack PLEASE come early on Saturday so we can start on time at 9am - our Committee and helpers will be at Amaroo Oval from 8am ready for you! We often have long lines on our first morning, come early and you wont have to wait! AGE GROUP MANAGERS We've had a great response from parents signing up for Age Group manager roles - a big thank you to those who have done so. We are still looking for some managers, mostly where we have groups of 16 athletes or greater and need to form a second group. We find making two groups makes field events much easier and quicker for everyone. Age groups with vacancies: UNDER 6 GIRLS UNDER 7 GIRLS - second manager needed UNDER 9 GIRLS - second manager needed UNDER 8 BOYS - second manager needed UNDER 9 BOYS - second manager needed UNDER 11 BOYS - second manager needed UNDER 12 BOYS - no manager yet If you can help please contact our Age Group Manager Coordinator Simone by email ([email protected]) a.s.a.p. We are also interested in hearing from parents who are able to help out this year on our track computers, particularly the Round track. If you tried out this job last year and enjoyed it we'd love your help this season. Its the best seat at the oval to catch all the action. We encourage all our families to like our Facebook page to keep up to date with everything that is happening at our club. If you don't have Facebook our website also has lots of information. We post wet weather notices on both Facebook and our website (usually before 8am). Registrations for Season 2018-19 are still open! We are currently taking registrations for all age groups online. Check out the links on our Registration page. Our first meet of the season is this coming Saturday 20th October at 9am. If you still need to pick up your registration number you can do this from 8am. Please come early to avoid long line ups as our first week can be busy! We will also have uniforms for sale throughout the season.  |
