CAPITAL ATHLETICS ACT RELAY CARNIVAL 2024

Registrations are now open for the 2022 Little Athletics ACT Relay Carnival!
We will not be holding a meet at Amaroo on Saturday December 3. We encourage families to participate in the Relay Carnival on this day instead. This is a fun carnival that all age groups can take part in. Register your athletes via the link below individually and they will be placed in teams of 4 with others from their age group. EVENT TIMETABLE
The timetable will be run in three blocks with events not to start before the following times:
Under 6-8 - commencing at 8.30am
Under 9-12 - not beginning before 10.45am
Under 13-17 - not beginning before 2.00pm
EVENTS
Under 6-8: 4 x 50m shuttle relay, 4 x 100m shuttle relay, slalom relay (4/team)
Under 9-12: 4 x 70m shuttle relay, 4 x 100m circular relay, 4 x 200m circular relay
Under 13-17: 4 x 100m circular relay, 4 x 400m circular relay, 1000m Swedish medley relay (1 x 100m, 1 x 300m, 1 x 200m, 1 x 400m). U15-17 age groups compete together. The teams can be made up of athletes from U15, U16 or U17 age groups. U15-17 Swedish medley relay will be a mixed gender event (U15-17B/G, min 1 boy, max 2 boys/team).
EVENT REGISTRATION
Any athlete wishing to compete must register through ACT Little Athletics by following this link.
Registrations must be complete by 9pm on Sunday 27th November. There will be no late entries taken or any entries allowed on the day. Please ensure you complete 1 entry per athlete.
UNIFORM
All athletes MUST wear their GUNLAC uniform (GUNLAC T-shirt/singlet/crop top & black shorts) with their chest number and age patch clearly visible. All sponsorship must be clearly visible on the chest number and age patch. If you plan to register for the Little Athletics ACT Relay Carnival but do not have a uniform, please arrange to purchase one ASAP.
RELAY TEAMS
LAACT will forward the list of their athletes registered for the carnival to each LAACT Centre by COB on 28th November. After receiving this list, we will form relay teams for each age group.
If we do not have the correct number of athletes registered in an age group to form full relay teams, we will provide the names of athletes not assigned to teams to LAACT for inclusion in composite teams. Composite teams will then be formed by LAACT on 1st December and the details forwarded to Centres. Athletes competing in composite teams will still be receiving points for GUNLAC.
Once finalised, a list of GUNLAC teams will be posted on this page and emailed to all families attending the carnival. If you register for the Relay Carnival but are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know ASAP so we can ensure the other team members still have a full team
PARENTAL ASSISTANCE
All LAACT Centres are expected to provide officials for the Relay Carnival. If your child is attending the Carnival, you may be rostered on as an official. After we receive our list of entries and the official roles GUNLAC is required to cover, we will put together a parent roster. The roster will be posted on this page and emailed to families. Please check the roster carefully to see if your family is on it and which role you have been assigned when. All families attending LAACT carnivals during the season should be prepared to assist as an official.
