Planning for our next season are well and truly underway and registrations will open online on August 15th! We have updated our website with the upcoming seasons dates and fees, and will soon be contacting families about how they can get involved in our 2018-19 season!
Remember - age groups for this season have changed in-line with the change for all Little Athletics Centres nationally. If are not sure what age group you will be in this season you can check the Age Group Calculator.

We had a great roll up for our long jump session last week - great to see our athletes working on their skill during winter! This weekend Coach Rodney will be running a DISCUS session - 12pm at Amaroo Oval. If you are planning on coming along please email Rodney to let him know - find all the details on our Training Page.
Winter training continues this Saturday 12pm at Amaroo Oval with Coach Rodney running a Long Jump session. This is a great opportunity to practice your skills for up coming school or zone carnivals. Coach Rodney will be running training sessions over the off season, on Saturdays at 12pm-1pm at Amaroo Oval. This is a great opportunity to work on skills ready for season 2018-19, and also to prepare for up-coming school and regionals carnivals.

Planning for our 2018-19 Season is about to commence - starting with our Annual General Meeting to elect our Committee.
The AGM will be held this WEDNESDAY JUNE 20th - 7.30pm at Gungahlin Community Centre (Communities@ Work Centre) on 47 Ernest Cavanagh street, Gungahlin Town Centre.
At the meeting we will be declaring all Committee positions vacant and seeking nominations for all positions. We will also commence planning for the new season. We would love to see some new faces on our Committee, and are keen to hear new ideas for our up coming season.

While its getting chilly outside, its not too early to start thinking about those sunny Saturday mornings at Little Athletics!
Planning for Season 2018-19 will commence soon with our Annual General Meeting. At the meeting we will appoint our Committee and commence planning for the upcoming season.
The AGM will be held at the Gungahlin Community Centre (Ernest Cavanagh street, Gungahlin) on WEDNESDAY 20th JUNE 2018 at 7.30pm.
Further details on the meeting will be posted in the coming weeks - we would love to have some new faces on our Committee so if your kids love Little Athletics get involved in our club this season!
Under 11 and older athletes who are competing in High Jump this weekend at ACT Champs - we are running a special training session at the AIS Track this Thursday on High Jump (Amaroo oval is closed for the two week shutdown of all grounds). This will focus just on flop technique.
Training will commence at 5.15pm - 6.30pm and will be run by Coach Rodney.
If you are interested in attending please email Simone at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm attendance and find out all the details. AIS does charge a track entry fee but we do have tickets available for athletes for the fee 0f $3.50 (usually casual entry is $5).
This is a great opportunity to get some final practice and technique advice - thanks to Rodney for offering his time for this session!
IMPORTANT NOTE - As the oval is closed we are not able to offer training at Amaroo this week. Apologies to those who were keen! Unfortunately we can't use the oval if TAMS closes it.
This Saturday is our final meet at Amaroo which is Presentation Day! We will be running handicap races on the straight track (the GUNLAC Gift) and will have presentations for all our athletes. We ask that all athletes come in their GUNLAC shirts for the presentation. Start time is our normal time of 9am with expected finish time approximately 10.30am. All athletes who competed in at least one meet after Christmas will receive a medal and we have many other awards to present so come along a help celebrate our 2017-18 season!
